ABSTRACT:
This 27 page paper examines the impact of spending decisions by a developing country's government on the performance of the economy. The first part of the paper considers how and why government spending is incurred and has to increase in developing countries paying particular attention to the way government expenditure has occurred in China. The second part of the paper examines how and why government spending can have a positive impact on the economy and uses economic theory to explain why the Chinese economy has grown and how it may perform in the future.
